What Beliefs Hold You Back

Money is the root of all evil, the customer is always right and a jack of all trades in master of none, you have heard them right, and most of you believe them to be true, and when we believe things to be true we act in accordance with them and they dictate the outcomes we get.

The Bible does not say Money is the root of all evil is says “The LOVE of Money is the root of all evil” and that makes the statement almost the complete opposite of what I know many of you believe, in fact I think Money is the root of all goodness, money means being able to help people and the more you have the more people you can help otherwise charities wouldn’t ask you for it.

If you believe at any level the money is evil you will find it very hard to retain it and you will most likely feel shame about having it which will lead to you losing it, sorry but that is the way the brain works, beliefs are everything in personal development and personal development plays a massive part in business growth.

Is the customer always right? No of course not and the actual quote is “The Customer is always right in matters of choice”, in other words if they don’t like your prices or products etc they can always shop elsewhere.

if you believe the customer is always right you will forever be held to ransom by unrealistic demand and discounts as well as unprofitable and unproductive ideas, yes customer service is important but it is NOT everything and in fact any run in with some of the bog players in Banking or Telecoms will tell you how much they really care about it and there bottom lines are pretty healthy.

What about the Jack of all trades is master of none, surely that makes sense right? No the Quote is actually “A Jack of all trades and master of none is oft times better than a master of one” in other words knowing a little about a lot is better for your own personal and business growth than knowing everything about just one subject.

The jack of all trades quote makes you believe you have to specialise, and as a low-level employee that may well be important but will massively hold you back if you are running a business or leading a team.

What you believe drives what you do and what you do drives the outcomes you get, this is much deeper than you may think, knowing that logically the customer is not always right or that money is not evil and believing that in your soul are two very separate things, a massive part of what I do is help my clients unpick what they actually believe so they can get the results they really want and I believe truly deserve.
