What Your Brain Can do That Ai can’t – Yet
I was learning about Ai the other day and the presenter, Arthur C. Brooks, a behavioural scientist, author, and Professor Harvard Business School, made a really good point about how out brains work and what Ai can and can’t currently do for us.
Most of you I am sure are aware that we have a left side of the brain and a right side, that the left side does all the logical things like maths, problem solving and reasoning, the right side of your brain does all the emotional things like love, creativity, art and beauty. To put it other words the left side of your brain does the complicated tasks, the repetitive logical things and the right side of your brain does the complex things that even we struggle to understand like love or beauty.
Ai or more accurately the large language models that so called Ai uses is very good at the left side complicated tasks, often better than you are yourself at doing it, it is not currently able to do the right-side complex tasks like love. This makes a brilliant partner to solve problems that repeat themselves over and over, its great at helping to identify create and yes run your processes, but it can not give you human connection or true creativity yet.
If you are using technology to improve your complicated task functioning you should have more time for complex things like relationships, both business and personal, salesforce recently announced that over 80% of its customer service calls are now dealt with by Ai Agents without ever needing a human, and yet at the same time they understand that human interaction is still a critical step when someone “feels” bad about a situation as Ai cannot grasp how you feel.
If you are not using Ai in your life or business I would suggest you look into it some more and start doing so, to put this in perspective prior to 1892 it took at least a day to plough and prepare an acre of farming land, once the tractor came out that same person could do 100 acres a day, look at those numbers again a repetitive task was done 100 times faster because of technology and Ai is having the same impact today.
I want to say I am not an Ai expert, I understand software and technology yes but you don’t even need to be able to understand that to make use of Ai, you just need to be able to ask questions, and that I am good at, that is what I do with my clients, I ask them the questions that Ai can’t to discover the complex things that are holding them back from the progress they could be making.
Then these days they can use Ai to massively increase their productivity and profitability leaving their competition way behind.
