The Third Pillar of an Extraordinary Life
Nothing worthwhile is easy, that’s one of the reasons your purpose needs to be something bigger than you, it has to be something that will drive you to overcome the inevitable roadblocks and disappointment that life brings our way, your purpose should make you passionate enough about what you are doing that you will develop a massive amount of persistence, I want to tell you that nearly every overnight success I have ever heard about was actually more like 10 years in the making, it takes hard work and commitment to achieve something worthwhile, whether that’s raising a family, building a career or building a business they all take massive amounts of persistence. The ability to keep getting up when you are knocked down, to keep on keeping on.
At the start of the movie the Founder, Ray Kroc (if you haven’t watched it I recommend it it’s a great movie and its on Netflix I think) who created McDonalds is listening to an old LP record on Persistence, and it worked for him.
I promise you everyone who has achieved has had to develop persistence and that my friends takes passion.
Don’t let anyone tell you that you can achieve great things without huge effort, I am not saying to just work hard, if success was just about hard work most of us would be billionaires and we are not, so it isn’t, if it is about working hard then it’s about working hard on these pillars and the key to being able to do that consistently over and over without any loss of enthusiasm is to live with passion
if you’re not passionate about what you do, then do something else.
if your job or your business doesn’t fire you up, change it or start another one.
if you’re not getting out of bed every morning wondering what it is that you can do to improve, how you can become better and achieve more to drive towards your purpose, then do something else because without that passion, without that driving force there is simply no way I can imagine that you will have the drive, motivation and energy to achieve big things.
If you don’t want the world to be a better place then you had better never complain if you want other people to fix the injustices in your industry, country, or on the planet then you don’t really care enough about them to act, if you do want to change the world to be a better place then I salute you and will do my best to support anyone I can on that journey.
I promise you my friends that life is too short to settle, that you really can have almost anything your heart truly desires if you help enough other people first. When you truly, deeply desire something then you can use that passion to drive you forward and succeed.
if get your mindset right, are clear on what it is you want to achieve, your passion will help you do what needs to be done to get to where you want to be.
Live with passion and I wish you all the success you can ever dream of, and I hope this has helped in some small way.
