The Fifth and final pillar of an extraordinary life is you must seek constant and never-ending improvement, or can I so CANI
Another favourite quote of mine on this subject from Jim Rohn is
Work harder on yourself than you do on your Job
I’m going to say that again work harder on yourself than you do on your job or your business
How else you ever supposed to develop into the person capable of taking yourself or your business to the next level,
I can promise you that you are highly unlikely to grow into them by accident.
What shocks me is nearly every single person I meet continues to do the same thing over and over again while hoping they are going to somehow suddenly get miraculous results.
They continue to operate with the same mindset and level of knowledge they have always had, with the only possible growth coming from their experience and that by the way, is way rarer than you may think, I hear people say all the time“ I never make the same mistake twice” and they say that while making the same mistake so many times that from outside you would think it was a comedy, the same mistakes with finances, careers, businesses and relationships over and over and, well you get the idea.
What is in someways even more disturbing is that people think that learning from experience is somehow a good thing or the only way to learn. Experience by the way is a shitty teacher
Experience only gives you the lesson after you’ve suffered the pain.
Its definitely not the easiest route to success.
If I asked you to give me the definition of insanity, you would probably say something along the lines of,
Continuing to do the same things and expecting a different result and yet that is exactly what I see most people do their entire life.
They act with the same knowledge that they left school or university with plus that little bit they’ve learned through experience, and that is what is making their life so damn hard.
I hear many excuses for why people act like this, sorry the adult gown up word for excuses is a reason right?
Well no matter what word you choose the excuse I often hear most for this is that people are too busy to work on themselves, which is madness, when you use the word busy what you really mean is this is not important to you, after all you are never too busy to phone an ambulance if your loved one has just had a heart attack.
The only way you can make your life easier is to learn how to make it easier at a rate much faster than experience can provide you, learn the right mindset and learn to condition yourself to use that mindset to get what you want from life.
Remember Mindset Matters and if you want to build an extraordinary life you need to develop and extraordinary mindset and that means learning,
More wise words from Jim Rohn who also said you can live with the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and trust me the pain of disciplining yourself to learn and improve is way easier in the long run.
The pursuit of extraordinary requires dedication, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to being better. This is the only way to unlock your potential and achieve extraordinary results.
Adopt a mindset of curiosity and openness, always be seeking to learn more, do more, and be more. This relentless pursuit of improvement is what separates those who dream from those who achieve.
If you are going to achieve something you have never achieved before you are going to have to do some things you have never done before so accept that you are going to have to step out of your comfort zone.
Growth does not happen in the realm of the familiar; it requires you to challenge yourself, take risks, and face your fears.
To have an extraordinary life you are going to have to focus on continuous improvement to achieve your goals.
Personal growth has a profound impact on your relationships and interactions with others. When you are committed to your own growth, you inspire those around you to do the same. You become a source of motivation and encouragement
Embracing constant and never-ending improvement is a key aspect of developing an extraordinary life, if you want more of anything, money, passion, joy then you are going to have to grow as a human first.
You must discipline yourself to learn something every day that will help you grow as a person, and I promise that will help you develop the right mindset for success, I read something that will help me grow for at least 30 minutes every day, try it, you’ll be astonished at how much you learn in a year.
Use the clarity you have on where you are to understand what it is that is holding you back, what beliefs or perceptions you have that get in the way of your future and then learn how to change that part of yourself to be better so that you can achieve more, personal development is a pillar that you cannot succeed without, anything else is leaving your future up to luck.
